FAQ

The table, answered.

What is the periodic table of emotions?

A working taxonomy of 75 named emotional states, arranged in families the way a periodic table arranges elements. Each element carries a symbol, a number, a definition, and the works composed from it. It is the notation XPRMTS uses to write every piece as a formula.

How many emotions are on the table?

75 named elements, from awe and grief to rare states English borrowed from elsewhere: saudade, hiraeth, mono no aware. Five cells sit reserved and unnamed. Tap any element above for its definition and the works that carry it.

Can I buy a print from the table?

The table itself is a study tool and is not sold. The works composed from its elements are: archival pigment prints from $75 (open editions) or $350 (Series 001), each naming three to five elements in its formula, with free US shipping. Browse the works.
