The studio behind XPRMTS.

XPRMTS is the working name of a studio practice run by a single artist. Each release is a deliberate, limited series: small enough to be considered piece by piece, finite enough never to be reopened. The chapters below trace how the studio arrived here.

“There are no bad experiences. Life happens, and it makes us who we are. Every piece is built toward something bigger than us.”

TETRA · FOUNDER
EARLY YEARS · 2008–2019

A long apprenticeship.

Eleven years of self-taught practice across forums, servers, studios, and stages. The unstructured education that came before everything.

Forums and Photoshop, 2008

The earliest practice was online: designing forum signature images for gaming communities, customizing operating systems, and learning visual composition through hundreds of small, anonymous commissions. It was an unstructured education, but a real one.

02

Audio engineering, 2013

The bedroom became a recording studio. Co-running modded Minecraft servers in parallel taught the discipline of maintaining systems other people relied on. Mixing and mastering vocals for friends and local artists became reflexive. Ableton was the second instrument.

03

Collective and clothing, 2019

Co-founded an international artist collective and a small New York clothing label. Performed live for the first time. Designed cover art for hundreds of releases. The work of this period was largely made for other people, which turned out to be the best possible preparation for the work that came later.

FOUNDATION · 2022–2025

Tetra. Two hundred works in nine months.

Independent artist and engineer. The years that became the foundation of XPRMTS. One piece a day, no exceptions.

04

Becoming an artist, full-time

In June 2022, after relocating to North Carolina and stepping away from a sales career, the studio became the only job. The commitment was simple: one piece a day, no exceptions. Two hundred works in nine months. It was the first proof that a sustained practice was possible.

05

A market for the work

Early 1/1 works sold on Foundation, SuperRare, and Rarible. Pieces like The Beginning of the Universe (sold 0.494 Ξ, 2022) and Cheers Club found collectors at meaningful prices. More importantly, they validated the idea that the work could exist on its own terms, without the gatekeepers of a traditional gallery system.

06

Refining the language

Across roughly three hundred pieces, a visual vocabulary emerged: heavy contrast, considered palette, figures that look both ancient and rendered. The motto, at war with entropy, describes the underlying intent. To make work that resists dissolution, even quietly.

XPRMTS · 2026–PRESENT

A studio practice. Series by series.

A studio practice releasing limited series of considered work. Series 001 contains five works, each composed individually. Print and certificate, paired and permanent.

What XPRMTS is

XPRMTS is a one-person studio. There is no agency, no team, no outsourcing on the creative side. Every piece is conceived and composed by the same artist, and answered for personally. Prints are produced at an archival fine art press; the edition number lives on the certificate, minted on Base. The work is sold in small, finite series; once a series is closed, it does not re-open.

08

How a piece is made

Each work begins as a sketch and is then revised hundreds of times: re-rendered, re-cropped, re-graded, until something stable emerges. The vast majority of attempts never leave the studio. Only the strongest works from each series are released. Everything else is discarded; nothing is held back for a later sale.

ANATOMY · ONE PIECE

Dozens of parts. One image.

A single work is dozens of decisions held in tension: face, halo, wings, robe, palette, ground. Each component is isolated, studied, refined, then composed back into the master.

The periodic table of emotions

The studio organizes its work around a private taxonomy: a periodic table of emotional states. Each piece is described as a compound of these elements (Threshold, Held-Breath, Reverence, Absence) instead of being labelled with the usual broad categories like "happy" or "sad". The aim is to give precise names to the states most art leaves unnamed.

What you receive

Each release comes in two parts. The print is produced on 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching fine art paper with archival inks, or on true-matte poly-cotton canvas stretched ready to hang, and shipped insured and tracked within the United States. The certificate of authenticity is an on-chain token scheduled after delivery and minted on Base via Manifold, permanently recording your edition number against the work. Earlier 1/1 pieces from the foundation years remain on-chain as part of the same provenance record.

“My art is a tribute to those who never had the chance to create, who always felt their dreams were out of reach.”
