I soared above the carnage, looking for a refuge. The earth was scorched, shattered, air filled with the stench of death and fire. I could not escape the sounds of the war, the agony of the living, the fury of the flames. I could not ignore the sights of the horror, the innocence of the victims, the cruelty of the killers. I could not bear the feelings of the world, the grief of the spirits, the rage of the heavens.
I was no longer human, no longer alive, maybe an angel, a soul of the departed, a child of God. But I had not seen God in this rage, only the devil in their primordial form. I had not felt His grace in this judgment, only His wrath and His vengeance. I had not known His love in this creation, only His hate and His indifference.
I found a tower that still stood, barely. It was the highest place above the rubble, a monument of ambition. I perched on its summit, observing the clash of titans. No lightning, after the violence a moment of silence, hoping to find some solace, in this perpetual turmoil.
I gazed at the sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of God. But there was no glimpse, and there was no God. I reached out my hand, hoping to touch His face. But there was no face, no Him, only void and isolation. I cried out my voice, hoping to get His answer. But there was no answer, and there was no Him. There was only a question, a heavy doubt.
"Are You Watching? Is there Really a God? How could there be, when we only see Hell on Earth."
